No, this isn’t an obscure Hawaiian shout out. It’s a limited run series of miniature vinyl toys for watch manufacturer, Nooka. When it comes to adorable, yet inexplicable mascotts it looks like Domo might get a run for his money from a similarly fuzzy bizarre competitor. Either way, this thing is pretty rad at 3.5 inches tall for $25 if you ask me. Apparently there are 8.5 inch versions for $40, but thats a lot of love for my budget.

Forget the watches (not quite my style), I’m in it for animations like the one above. Via Kronikle.

Take the diagram from four posts below and look closely at the bottom circle and it’s overlaps. Whatever, I still heart the screen saver friendly body of work. Not all images in the set are created equal (below), but that being said there are some that really push the limit in terms of creativity (above). And of course, Photoshop. Check out the entire Public Flikr Pool here. Via i09 (I think)…

Pictured above in a typical sized coffee/tea cup the ‘Lunartik’ which is both a distant cousin of the Munny (plastic, DIY, overpriced) and adorably strange. The only way to increase it’s cute factor? Make it about 1/4 smaller. This must be the way of the future because it seems to work embarrassingly well (see image below). These guys must be onto something because Coca-Cola is trying the same thing–just at a different scale and for a much less ’boutique’ product. Order direct here. Via ToysAreEvil.

Designer Andrew Bell shows us all why the next generation of cell phone users care more about the Software than they do Hardware. Not sure when these blind boxed toys hit stores but I think their sales should provide somewhat of a litmus test in terms of how many user evangelists there really are out there in the wild. Yes, this is a toilet Transformer. Doomed to roam the universe alone since his disguise is more or less a cruel joke and no one likes to be seen hanging out with a crapper with appendages. Apparently someone at green-friendly Japan-based commode manufacturer TOTO , makers of the ‘Greenmax,‘ thought this might bolster marketing efforts. Where else would a company use an action figure to sell bathroom fixtures? In a case of hardcore irony the company most likely does more net damage to the environment with the tooling and manufacturing of the toy (either in Vinyl or PVC) plus all that packaging. I heart the way this ‘Mini God’ takes inspiration from the Far East as opposed to South America, as is the case for the rest of their product line. What I don’t like is the unnecessary application of red paint splotches all over this thing. Don’t get me wrong, the flashes of color act well to split up the form and bring attention to detail but they sure make the whole thing a lot more visually busy.

I don’t know about you but ‘Blood spatters’ make the difference between something I do or don’t place on my desk. Ok, so I’m not sure I would bring this to work anyways. Regardless, it’s powered solely by a 2.0 USB connector yet this bad boy features a 2.5 Hour rechargeable Lithium Battery, plus a decent Speaker and Tweeter package–very respectable at this overall size. Check out these 1-inch zipper pulls from KidRobot….reminds me that it would be nice to see some different Mori Chack’s creations some point soon.

I love a good teaser image and a site to accompany it in order to reinforce high expectations. I’m sure that there will be a 100 piece limited edition colorway set of this new style stand alone speaker released soon to build buzz and I look forward to seeing how Marka27 pulls off the latest ‘minigod.’ I like the thought of several integrated drivers built into a larger form as opposed to having protrusions jutting off of a central mass that just happen to have speakers–even thought it works, albeit in a very visually loud manner in both series below.

Issue is that the ‘minigod’ speakers come in a bit high in terms of pricing for my taste ($100+) without having premium components but it’s hard to argue that they do have a touch of style that can’t be found elsewhere in either the land of audio accessories or in vinyl toys as well. Hopefully the new edition comes with better drivers, improved compatibility, and a bit more balanced styling. Via ToysAreEvil.

Check out the uber-limited edition three piece run from Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica. I hate to say it but this is cutest thing I have ever blogged about. Via ToysAreEvil.
